You forget about that feeling after a major tournament has finished. Especially after what we’ve just witnessed.
But the pre-season friendlies have already started. Then there’s the Euro qualifiers plus the new season.
Football never sleeps.
I’ve lost some enthusiasm but I’m sure it will return soon.
After hearing this song though, I know it will.
This song, by Charlie Hipwell was three years in the making and was released just before the World Cup, but it got lost in the crowd because of all the other football songs. Also because this song isn’t specifically about the WC, there was an attempt to link it with a video featuring previous England performances, which is always a kiss of death.
So I’m taking this opportunity to forget about the England bit (not hard) and remember this is about the football.
