United Calypso

I didn’t think there would be a sequel to the Football Calypso, but there is.

The previously posted calypso song mentioned various “big” teams at the time, including Huddersfield. This next calypso is from the same era but this time sings about one team. That of the Busby Babes over at Old Trafford there.

Now things… times were different when this was recorded. I’ve researched to find out the exact year it was done, I’m not sure if it was before or after the Munich air crash. There is no info out there on the year or about who is singing on the track. Upon hearing it does sound like something from those dark days (no pun intended) of the Black and White Minstrel Show.

The track was revived and reissued in 1998 for the anniversary of the air disaster.
